A biodata in Hindi is read more carefully by the people it is usually sent to. It is also the version most likely to arrive as a row of little rectangles — for a technical reason almost nobody is warned about.

The standard labels

Use the conventional wording rather than a technically better translation. A reader scanning for their usual label should find it exactly where they expect it.

The empty-boxes problem

Devanagari is a complex script: consonants join into conjuncts and vowel marks move around the letters they attach to. Rendering it correctly needs both the right font and proper shaping support in whatever produced the file. When either is missing you get one of three things — empty rectangles (□□□□), the right letters in the wrong order, or the ि mark sitting beside the wrong consonant.

The cruel part is that it looks perfect on the machine that made it, because that machine has the fonts. The recipient's phone does not.

Export the file, then open it on another device — ideally a phone that is not yours.
Check the conjuncts specifically: क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ. These break first.
Check that ि sits before the consonant it follows, as in शिक्षा.
If anything is wrong, do not send it. A biodata full of boxes reads as carelessness about the reader's language.

Hindi, English, or both

Send Hindi to family elders, local bureaus and community networks; English to matrimonial sites and NRI matches. When you can, send both — a bilingual page asks nobody to struggle.
